About C-Space

Attention Dreamers & Schemers

Do you have an idea to improve your neighborhood, Cleveland, or the world?

Are you good at something you'd like to teach others?

Are there issues you would like to talk over with other Clevelanders?

Did you always want to put on a performance, event or class but did not have anywhere to do it?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, C-Space is the place for you!

C-Space is looking for people to host educational, creative, political and social programs at our new location on Clark and W. 44th. Both regular programming and one-time events are welcome, including classes, discussion groups, projects, group meetings, performances, and more!

Resources available at C-Space for programmers include:

The space is available at no charge for meetings and free events, but we are always happy to take donations! For events and programs that charge fees to participants, C-Space usage operates on a sliding scale.

To inquire about starting an ongoing program or hosting a one-time event contact 216-631-2233 or hustlenbustle@clevelandspace.org.

The values at the heart of C-Space

Social Justice / Anti-Oppression means actively fighting systems of oppression as they play out in our communities, while working towards ways of life based on respect.

Cross-cultural interactions are a jubilant embrace of diversity and difference in the human world. They also are helpful in dismantling barriers of fear between people and cultures.

To Assume the Best about Each Other is to trust people, to really try to listen and to see things from their point of view, instead of doubting, mistrusting, and speaking ill of people.

Action is when we put thought to work to solve problems.

Cooperative Decision Making is a way for a group to make decisions that emphasizes including everyone and coming up with a solution that most people are happy with, instead of competing to have your ideas prevail over other folks'.

Accountability means that people try to do what they say they will, that we are honest with each other and responsible to the group.

Creativity is the opposite of conformity; it is beautiful and diverse and original, it helps come up with new and good solutions to problems, and we also just love it outright! Try something different today.

D-I-Y (do-it-yourself) is an ethic of self-empowerment; in essence that people or groups can and do accomplish things without experts or specialists, and can make the best decisions for their own lives.

Skill-sharing happens when we teach our friends, kids, parents, or neighbors what we know, whether it's cooking, car mechanics, how to have an effective meeting, or the way things were back home. When you've got something as good as knowledge, you can't help but share it.
